EXECUTIVE SUMMARY. The company is the vision of John Bays. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and a focus in Urban Economics. During college he worked for several large Seattle brokerage firms, getting the "feel" for the real estate industry. During college, he was asked to join Westlake Associates / Gibraltar as a full associate. There he worked for two years honing his skills in the commercial real estate venue - all the while keeping a keen eye on the residential market. IIn 2003 he joined Windemere Real Estate Group handling investor relations and post auction sales for the company. It was here he made up his mind that he wanted a company of his own, to build residential real estate, so after 5 years of building and developing privately, in September of 2008, Builders of America was born.
